NYS Licensed Mold Assessment
New York State Labor Law Article 32 (2015)
The mold remediation and assessment industry has been regulated by law in New York State since 2015. The law was enacted in order to create a requirement for a qualified, independent analysis for suspected mold, create minimum requirements for a mold assessment report (mold remediation plan), to create minimum standards of remediation work requirements based on best practice industry standards (IICRC S520), and to limit fraud by removing financial incentives through separating the mold assessment and remediation responsibilities on any given project.
North Star Environmental Building Performance LLC is a fully licensed and insured NYS Mold Assessment Contractor with a licensed NYS Mold Assessor on staff. North Star Environmental Building Performance does not perform mold remediation services. We hope that you will never need mold remediation services, but if you do, you can be assured that North Star will provide you with a detailed and thorough assessment of conditions and if needed, a detailed Mold Remediation Plan that meets or exceeds all of the requirements outlined in the New York State Labor Law. Our motivation is to provide you with the information you need to ensure that if mold remediation is needed, it will be done safely and effectively and that no unnecessary steps are taken. Additionally, we are here to perform post-remediation clearance inspections to verify that the Mold Remediation Plan was followed and the work was completed appropriately so you can put the issue behind you.
